PE and Sport
At Violet Way Academy, we believe that good-quality Physical Education (PE) empowers children to enjoy taking responsibility for developing active and healthy lifestyles. We aim to deliver a balanced program that offers a variety of activities to develop our children's knowledge, skills and understanding in PE and improve their health and well-being. Positive participation in PE, and extra-curricular sports, will enable children to build self-esteem, team work and a positive attitude. We want to introduce them to the pleasures of sport to help develop active children who benefit from a healthy lifestyle.
We are committed to ensuring that all pupils receive high quality Physical Education each week, delivered by well-trained and enthusiastic teachers. The Sports Premium funding allows us to develop a sustainable improvement in teacher confidence and a curriculum based on developing children’s physical confidence and ability.

What is the PE and Sports Premium?
The PE and Sports Premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. The funding is jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport; it comes directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for children. The funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools. Our reports can be viewed by clicking on our 'Evidencing the Impact of PE and Sport Premium' documents below.
